Month: February 2018
Coho (ages 5-6)
Each week we spend time at Seahurst Beach observing nature with our senses. After walking on the beach, students use their sense of sight and draw in their nature journals what they see on the horizon. Students captured the mountains, water, and even the heron perched in the trees above. Observations recorded with pictures and words help teachers document growth throughout the year.
Kokanee class (ages 6-7)
Students in the Kokanee class (ages 6-7) can request to be a Feature Reader when they have a book they would like to read aloud and share with classmates. This gives students practice in their reading fluency in a supportive atmosphere.
Friday Creative Enrichment Workshops
Friday Creative Enrichment Workshops provide an opportunity for all ages to work together on a variety of artful projects. In the Creative Building Workshop, students ages 6-11 learn how to safely use tools and work together with support from our high school student intern.
